Gubernur Bali Melakukan Penanaman Pohon



Sunday, 28 August 2011. Governor of Bali, Made Mangku Pastika and the staffs of Bali Province Government came to SMA Negeri Bali Mandara (Sampoerna Academy) to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Bali Mandara program by planting 340 trees around the school area. This agenda was also a part of Bali Green and Clean program, an effort to create a cleaner and greener environment in Bali as one of the world’s most famous tourist destination. The visit was the third meeting between students and staffs of SMANBARA (Sampoerna Academy) and the Governor since the student inauguration (28 July 2011) and the 1st visit to school (31 July 2011).
The agenda of the day was started by a brief welcome ceremony at the school field, in which the principal of SMANBARA (Sampoerna Academy), I Nyoman Darta and the Governor delivered their speeches to the participants. Then, the Governor and staffs planted the tress in the provided spots before they enjoyed some performances by the students at the school hall. On that occasion, there were performances by all students singing Bali Mandara Mars and Spread Our Wings (Sampoerna Foundation’s Theme), a poetry reading by Ratih, band performances by SMANBARA Band and Balinese story telling (Mesatua) by Siska. The last activity done by the Governor and staffs was going around the school to check the planting of the trees.
Made Mangku Pastika, in his interview with the school broadcasting team said that he saw many improvements at SMANBARA (Sampoerna Academy), since the first visit and he hoped that there would be more to come in the future. All of staffs and students had worked hard to reach the bright future as stated in the school motto, “Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow”. He wished that the motto could be applied in all aspects of student’s life and the students of SMANBARA (Sampoerna Academy) would be the next leaders of Bali, Indonesia and the global community.
Before leaving the campus, the Governor visited the dormitory where the students live. He was impressed as well as glad to see the condition of the dorm. There, he shared his experiences of studying and living in the boarding school to the students. After that, the governor and staffs left SMA Negeri Bali Mandara (Sampoerna Academy) for the next agenda of the day.
